Mangalore is a small and sweet city and has its own uniqueness. Mangalore was named after the presiding goddess Mangaladevi. The city is best known for the temples and other worship places. People residing here communicate using Tulu, Kannada, Konkani and Beary, but the most commonly used language is Tulu.

Fishing is one of the main occupation of the people residing here because of which there are many ports that are situated along the sea coast.

There are various places to visit in Mangalore that attract the tourists. Sulthan Battery Port is  the place of highest tourist attraction. There are several churches  and temples that can be visited. Since Mangalore is a coastal area, beaches cannot be forgotten and is the most visited place by everyone. There are several beaches here and is the best place to relax and spend a quality time with your loved ones.

Mangalore has its own culture that is showcased in the form of dance, Cuisine, festivals and so on. Bhuta Kola and Yakshagana is the most practised dance forms. Tiger dance or so called Pili Vesha is the highlighted dance forms of Mangalore.

'Mangaluru Dasara'  is the festival that is celebrated with great pomp and joy by  the residents of Mangalore. Many outsiders from various parts of India, join together to make this festival a grand success.

Mangalore cuisine is best known for fish and chicken dishes. The lip smacking dishes among them are bangude pulimunchi, Anjal fry, Kori rotti, Pundi, chicken sukka, moode and so on.

Mangalore has so vast diversity and culture that it is impossible to describe the beauty of it in a single article. This is a city with sweetness overloaded and the best part of it  is the freshness of  the city  is not lost and still remains the same.
